Tentative description
This course introduces the concept of ocean literacy and explains why it matters for Namibia. Learners explore what it means to be ocean literate, the global origins of ocean literacy, and how the seven core principles are adapted to Namibia’s unique coastal, climatic and social context. The course sets a shared foundation for all subsequent modules.
Note: This course is based on the Ocean Literacy Toolkit for Namibia and was developed as part of the NIMPA+ project, which supports marine protection, ocean literacy and sustainable ocean use in Namibia. https://nimpaplus.com
